Here is a recent interview that Mark Bialkoski, the Director of Basketball Operations (DOBO) for Men's basketball

Also, Mike Ekanem who was an assistant coach for Tony Skinn's first season, is now an assistant coach at Houston and Kelvin Sampson, who just made a national title game appearance

Very well spoken. But how have you been in the coaching business for 15 years and still a DOBO?

He took a demotion to come here. He was an assistant at ETSU
I’m assuming there was a coaching change at ETSU and the entire staff got let go. No one voluntarily gives up an assistant coaching job to become a DOBO making peanuts for a living.

He made 120k in 2024.

Lamar Butler, by comparison, made 84,371.

I’m not saying you’re wrong, but he’s making 6 figures here. That’s not peanuts.

Looking at his resume, he doesn’t have any collegiate playing experience (was a team manager at Georgia Southern), was a DOBO at Charlotte and UMD before getting an assistant at ETSU and then coming here to be a DOBO. Maybe he’ll get another assistant opportunity at a low/mid-major again. Maybe he’s peaked.
