Our fan base is just flat out lame. Always has been and will most likely remain so in the near and distant future. All time record of barely over .500 (806 - 778) has done little to inspire anyone. Generations of fans were subjected to pathetic to average at best teams, see Linn, Westhead, Nestor, Hewitt, and Paulsen. No history of success means people have found other things to do with their time and money. Add to that we've screwed the past 11 years post Coach L. I remain hopeful that KE will break the mold but I am not confident that we'll "sell out" on a regular basis even with the official capacity being lowered to around 7,500. I'm not going to put any money down on a crowd of 6,000. If Duke and Kentucky came to EBA 3/4 of the crowd would root for them. In the meantime I will continue to attend ALL home games, some away games, and enjoy the company of the few rabid Mason fans that exist in Fairfax.

A, it’s too bad some of Mason’s best teams pre-Larranaga had to play against David Robinson and/or play their postseason tournaments in Richmond against either vcu, Richmond, or both. Going to edit this by saying GMU had been in 10 CAA championship games (tied with ODU and Wilmington — who only got to 10 after the CAA lost its best teams, and only behind JMU with 11) and lost to either Davidson Robinson or a Richmond team in the Coliseum 4 times (‘86, ‘91, ‘04, ‘07). This doesn’t include the times Mason lost before the Championship as a higher seed to said Richmond teams in the Coliseum. In other words, it hasn’t been all bad.

B, don’t let Mason’s lame student body off the hook. A freshman entering college during Larranaga’s first year is now 42…

Mason is in basketball purgatory. We either need to get consistently better or significantly worse to play big time programs. I like the Hofstra addition, they will have a decent RPI/NET ranking and it’s an old Foe.

But I hope that in 3-5 years we are playing Virginia and Virginia Tech on an extended home/home basis with sellouts both home and away and maybe even Liberty for the bragging rights of the best team in Virginia.
I think we have played Va Tech a total of three times. Maybe now with their N. Va tech campus, they might reconsider playing us in Fairfax, but I am not holding my breath.

Agreed that it hasn't been all bad. Harrington, Barnes, and of course Coach L provided some great times. Overall though....meh. Also agree that the students blow.

Ron Hunter being their coach is the only reason why this isn’t a horrible game. Three years from not winning a game. Certainly not a pristine AAC team but the best we can realistically get. Coach Felton with some pull for this one

If i am tracking correctly
that is 12 of the 13 OOC game schedule

BUT
there are only 5 home/EBA games
plus 9 home conference/EBA games

14 games at EBA
I remember reading some where that there is a 16 home game contract with the EBA Management Company

does this mean
1) last OOC game will be home? and
2) their will a home exhibition/scrimmage game in October/early November?

Looks correct- I think 1 game hasn't been publicly leaked yet.

Once again though, and I know I am beating the deadhorse, it looks like to get anything of value most games are going to have to be more neutral site/classic/MTEs. At some point, it won't make sense for Mason to play anymore buy games at power 5. Or so I hope. ...

Actually, I believe KE said we would play Coppin St on the latest #TalkWithUS, so that's game 12, and we have one more that should come out today.
