Thanks for finding this - the big concern (and it has been brought up previously I believe) is that Ronny has not drawn fouls at the clip that he needs to for his role. Not sure where it is but I think we'd all like to see improvement on that.

In general, we only had 9 assists to 16 turnovers yesterday which is not good. What was interesting was that Austin Ball had 3 of them.
He needs to quit stepping on the sideline.

I'm sure as Austin Ball gets more minutes he will settle into the game and it will slow down for him. Hopefully he does this less and less for your liking ;)

Maybe I am off on this but Keyshawn Hall just plays too much as an individual. He gets the ball and his first instinct is to make a move and shoot. I thought this is supposed to be a team sport, like every other sport.
Also, his passing is lackadaisical, not crisp at all. On the other hand he gets his points and rebounds. I think he has all the talent in the world. I am sure TS is working with him. He certainly can be a big time player if he can continue to refine his game.. No doubt the team needs his points/rebound
Could not agree more. Couldn't understand why CTS kept him out there when the game was clearly over. Also, we were all commenting on how he NEVER passes unless the other team has him stopped and stymied. He doesn't look to pass to team mates when he's drawn the defense to him. Was really hoping last night would have been more of a bench game.

36 and 12. 15 of 18 shooting. With Kelly and Maddox out, the offensive load was squarely on Hall's shoulders.

Again, why are we complaining about this guy?

He is just a sophomore that has played in less than 30 college basketball games. He is leading us in points and rebounds. Give him a break.

Also, I don't mind that his first instinct is to attack - especially last night. He had a mismatch whenever/wherever he got the ball. If I'm coach Skinn, that's what I'm telling him too.

Remember, last year there were 14 games he did not play at all and another 10 where he played 10 or fewer minutes. Only 7 games did he log more than 10 minutes. So he's still getting used to playing major minutes.

BTW, according to Kenpom data, his 10.1 assist rate is essentially the same as Kelly's (10.2) and Billups (11.6)

It’s pretty insane. Guy shot 83% and it’s a problem.
In the post-game presser Tony said something like Hall was playing his butt off, others were not. Tony also indicated that during halftime he had conversations with a couple of players to "energize" them for the second half. So, it sounds like to me that Keyshawn was doing his job and others were not. If there's complaining to do then it's with Hall's teammates.

Is there any way the post game presser can be posted here? Thanks!

Post-game presser:

Maddox had an issue with his neck from the Loyola game...was a late scratch as Tony expected him to play. Amari on a 1 game suspension...will be available against Tulane. Didn't want to rush Malik back into playing, given that he just got back and hadn't practiced that much.

Because our fanbase is miserable, as a whole.
Yes, he did great and carried us - but look at the lazy one-handed passes and the behind the back dribbles - it was also on full display for Loyola. I really like the kid and his talent, but he has to clean this up. Stop being such homers and watch - I bleed green and gold since 1978. Just be a little objective. If I'm wrong at Tulane bash me.

I don't recall you coming down on Key, other than pointing out the weaknesses in his game. My comment was more towards the constant complainers. But, I would be very happy to see him have such a good game that I can come back and bash you for his criticisms ;-)

Key strikes me as the kind of kid who is really used to being the best player on the court and someone his team needed to rely on to win. I don't know much about his high school career but he seems to really try and take the load off his teammates by playing harder, when in reality he needs to dial that back at this level. When he's beating other guys and playing well he's unstoppable, but the minute his game flaps a little he gets flustered and seems to want to keep trying to make it work. I'm sure the coaching staff knows way more than me about fixing a problem like this. They'll work it out...you make a guy like Key get flowing night-in and night-out and he'll make your whole team better.

Pretty sure Hall said Tony Skinn recruited a teammate to Ohio State which is why Skinn knew about him when he went into the portal so don’t think it’s true he was always the best player on his team.

He plays like a scoring point guard, which is what he wanted to be so badly before he got to be 6’7. In that same interview he said his favorite players were James Hardin and Derrick Rose so it makes sense he wants the ball in his hands and he’s always looking to attack.

Hey Admin, how about moving this part of the Bridgewater thread to it's own GMU HOF thread? Thank you for your consideration.
Yes will do it when I get to a computer and then update this post. I will try to find a previous thread and merge them into.

Edit: I moved the Hall of fame posts to this thread: https://www.masonhoops.com/threads/george-mason-university-athletic-hall-of-fame.955/page-2

Its old, it was created in 2015, but it was specific to the topic. @Old Man
