This season is cooked, has been cooked. They have no identity, no cohesion, barely a pulse. At a minimum CKE should consider changes to his staff, amongst a number of other things that need a thorough evaluation in the off season.

Put the whole program in the Aaron Rodgers ‘darkness retreat’ and don’t let it come out until it remembers what basketball is.
Clock is ticking and all options should be on the table…2 years to get this thing turned around or it’s back on the coaching carousel.

I’m over this roster. I’d honestly recruit over every underclassman other than Fernandez, Dinkins, Elvis and Henry. Let Polite, Blake and every Covid-year senior walk. Add a few portal guys along with the incoming freshmen, fire at least one assistant, and scrap whatever offensive and defensive schemes we pretend to run.

Kim needs to have a coming-to-Jesus-Urbina moment and admit what he’s doing isn’t working. I still believe in the guy, but duct tape isn’t fixing this mess. He needs to burn it all down and build it back up.

At least one of Felton or Simp needs to be gone this offseason, maybe both. Kim clearly needs more help than he’s currently getting.

See ya in the portal:
Jones
P Oduro
Polite

Keepers:
Ticket (hopefully)
Malik
JF
Dinkins
Ginika
Elvis

Find an A-10 caliber PG and SG in the portal … if Bona can do it, so can Mason

Hope the Ball/White/Barron class is the real deal

If Ticket wants to use his COVID year, I’d have him back. Ginika too, probably, since it’s so hard to find a big man who can walk and chew gum at the same time. But I agree with your broader point, the time for half measures is over — it’s time to blow shit up and start again.

Agree 100% however not very high on Dinkins but I suppose he's still a freshmen and hopefully can give them 10 minutes a game. Ginika isn't going anywhere. What would his options be? Just quit? Fernandez, Elvis and Henry can come back and may be players. Fernandez could be great! Henry love his energy, Elvis who knows... Dinkins is way too small to ever be a starting pg in the A10 but again still need a 10 minute a game back up pg. Next year need way more kids. I'm not feeling Ball, kid apparently plays zero defense and feels like bust written all over him. See the next Blake Jones. Barron looks like solid tough kid. White who knows but he's 6'1 so at least he's not super short. I think what's been the most disappointing factor above all else is Mason has been the softest team in the A10 outside Davidson and that's absurd. Loyola grabbed and fouled them every single possession and they did nothing about it. Then i think it was Fernandez that took a forearm to the face and again they did nothing. This team truly is incredibly soft and it's sad.

It’s not just this year’s team. The entire program has become soft as baby poop. It’s embarrassing.

As for Ball, I’m not vouching for his defense but he plays the game with a chip on his shoulder and we need a lot more of that to turn this floundering ship around.

Moore might be the last kid I really remember being a gamer and tough. Otis played his heart out but he wasn't tough and had limitations. Who else was there? Won't name the obvious guards who weren't good at all. I'll take the tough kid who wants to play defense and battle for rebounds over the 3 star recruit every time. The lack of being able to rebounding is literally insane. How is it that this team is so bad at rebounding the ball? That's all effort oh wait..... The sad reality is he's lost his team just like last year. No one seems interested in playing anymore. I think looking back on it, Schwartz must have been pretty good given what we now know about rest of the team.

Yes Marquis Moore was tough and had no problem getting to the basket and great rebounder. The kid that I thought was tough was Jalen Jenkins. In his senior year he was a beast. In the same mode as Ryan Pierson. Seems like we haven't had dogs like these guys since Laranega. Also, let's not forget Jai Lewis and Will Thomas.

Ah yes Jalen Jenkins. Everyone on that 06' team would laugh at how soft these kids are. I can promise you a Skinn coached team would never be this soft.

"When your margin for error is small you just have to be really good on both sides of the ball," head coach Kim English said. "We weren't and that's the outcome you get. It's disappointing, but I think it was deserved, When you're down guys, everybody has to step up their game up individually, and collectively we have to play better as a group. I don't think we did that tonight."

I think Ball is going to be the best of the class by a mile. Let him at least get here before you judge him.

P Oduro is not a d1 player. He’s big so he will get a shot at d2 d3 school

I feel like pg either have it or they don’t. They don’t take as long to develop like a Big man. So I’d say move on.

Didn't bother watching. Who else was out other than vbj? I thought Ticket was back? Did Ronnie have a boo boo?

I think Kim needs to make changes to his coaching staff this upcoming offseason. I thought terribly wrong, but I was extremely hopeful for a top-75 team this year. I think it was fair to have somewhat aggressive expectations. There is nothing more to say than highlight how underperforming this team currently is.

Last years' team, all 4-5 players we had, was MUCH better than this years' team. We are regressing in every facet. It's really hard to explain.

We have extremely low attendance, no AD, lackluster student turnout, and really nothing going well for us right now. Unless a roster turnover occurs, I'm not renewing my tickets next year.

I didn’t think we were a top 4 team this year but I sure as hell didn’t expect bottom 4.

This is CKEs first head coaching gig. His failures here could cost him his entire future as a head basketball coach. He needs to figure something out by the end of next year or he’ll be running basketball camps for the rest of his life.

I don’t even need a top 4 finish necessarily. I just need to see a positive trajectory.

Yes Hewitt and DP were horrible, but they already had success previously. He needs to fight for his coaching life and let any and all heads roll if necessary to get shit done.
