As she looked at my supporting documentation, all of the sudden she got this big beaming smile. Why? Was she happy that we had gotten to the end of this review and 4 people would now be able to go on their cruise to a foreign country? Nope, she had found an error. I had provided my birth certificate card, the one I have used my entire life up to that point. It was issued by VA. Well, that is not good enough for a passport. I needed a paper one issued from the same state...

It was sick how happy it made her to find a mistake in our passport application. And in case you think I might have misjudged it, my kids that were ~ 10 and 12 at the time had noticed it as well.

I think I know the person you're talking about. If it's any consolation, she's since left her employment at the post office and working customer service for American Airlines at O'Hare.

I had the misfortune of running into her last week.

That reminds me of the sickest thing I have experienced in that realm. My family and I were getting our passports done. We had a specific one hour slot at the post office to review the paper work and submit it. We spent 45 minutes going over and confirming every detail. The entire time the lady was the most unpleasant person and never came close to cracking a smile.

Yikes. Yeah, miserable people somehow find roles like that. I always wonder how they end up getting hired if they were really that miserable and always are. Did they put on a fake smile during the interview? Did the hiring manager need a miserable person and that's how they got hired?

To bring this discussion back to cars . . . thoughts on the new Lamborghini Countach? Sure it has some Countach styling cues, but overall, it doesn't capture what made the original so awesome.

I think it is a nice evolution. I don't like what they did with the wheel wells.

I totally fell in love with the Countach (not the one in the back of that picture, but the one with the fender flairs, ground effects and the big spoiler). As a kid that was always my car. Funny story, when I was driving in my first car that I bought myself (a 74 Camaro, of course) I encountered Countach heading into the back roads of Fairfax Station. I egged him on and I was able to keep up with him for much of the time, until we hit the really windy areas and they he just left me in the dust.

I am with PikApp. I think it is a pretty faithful modernization of the original. I disagree with you on the wheel wells to some degree. If I were to just look at them standalone, no, I don't like them, but I feel they were being faithful to the oddness of the original Countach.

I see what you are saying Walter, though, that there is nothing that makes you go "wow" (which is roughly what the slang Countach translates to) like one would do seeing an original Countach .

I think that is right. It is based on the original Countach, not the one that teenage boys had on their wall. I am thinking the badass version will come later.

I like it too. My only criticism is the rear is a mess.

If you don't get the spoiler it looks very clean and it has a rear storage compartment that can hold golf bag. Still very well executed.

You'd have to be crazy to buy anything right now, especially anything remotely hot. I saw one of the fancy ones 20k above MSRP recently...

Only reason I am is because I'm crazy and also because I have two trades.

Yeah, I don't think I can pull the trigger just on the principle of it, but it's going to be a looong while before the inventory catches up. Auto manufacturers aren't even producing cars right now over a lack of chips and other parts.
